Sensory Swim

Neuroaffirming Aquatic Therapy for children in Adelaide

An OT-led aquatherapy program supporting neurodivergent children with confidence, regulation and essential water safety skills.

What Sessions Support

Water confidence

Build your child’s confidence in the water through supported experiences that help them feel secure, capable and ready to engage at their own pace.

Water safety skills

Develop essential water safety skills in a way that is tailored to your child’s needs, stage and goals, while supporting confidence in the water.

Sensory regulation

Use the unique properties of the water to support regulation, body awareness and a greater sense of calm in a safe, neuroaffirming setting.

Gross motor development

Support movement-based developmental goals through activities in the water that encourage coordination, strength, balance and motor planning over time.

Comfort around the pool

Help your child become more familiar with the pool environment, including its routines, transitions and sensory demands, in a supported way.

Individualised goals

Shape each session around your child’s strengths, needs and priorities, with goals set collaboratively to reflect what is most meaningful for them.

How it Works

Each child’s journey will look a little different, but here’s the general process.

  • 1. Start with an enquiry

Once you get in touch, we’ll learn a little about your child and whether this service may be the right fit.

  • 2. Intake form and initial discussion

Before starting, parents complete an intake form and, if needed, take part in an initial conversation.

  • 3. Goal-setting with your OT

We help you identify goals around regulation, movement, confidence and water safety.

  • 4. Tailored sessions and goals

Sessions are shaped around your child and support meaningful progress in a safe environment.

Is this an Occupational Therapy service?

Yes. This is an OT-led aquatherapy program, with sessions shaped around your child’s individual needs and goals.
