A Little About Arisse...

What are my favourite hobbies?
I love fishing, singing, watching Dragon Ball Z, playing claw machines, gardening, and playing with my pets!

What inspired me to become an OT?
I was inspired by my older sister, who is also an OT! Through her, I saw how much OTs can help children to become not only independent, but happier in their lives.

What’s something I’ve learnt from working with kids?
I’ve learnt to be fun and engaging, but also have lots of patience and understanding.

What’s my favourite game?
I love UNO! I often use UNO to teach important skills – and it is fun to play in a group! I also enjoy using different movement activities for regulation.

Her passion for working in paediatrics began during her university placements and her experience as a mentor/therapy assistant for individuals living with a disability. She strongly believes in the power of early intervention, living by the philosophy: “Medicine adds days to life, while occupational therapy adds life to days.” Keri brings a fresh and fun-loving approach to therapy, creating meaningful and engaging sessions for children and their families to work towards their goals.

A Little About Keri...

What are my favourite hobbies?

Outside of work, I love being a mum to my toy poodles, Murphy and Frankie. Their wagging tails brighten my day, and our walks to the park and café keep us happy, fit, and energised.

What inspired me to become an OT?

I’ve always loved working with children, a passion sparked as the eldest sibling and role model for my younger brother and cousins. As a paediatric occupational therapist, I’m grateful to support children of all ages daily, helping them achieve their goals while being a positive influence in their lives.

What’s something I’ve learnt from working with kids?
Children don’t automatically think the worst when presented with a new situation. Children are care-free, and they tend to have a positive attitude/outlook towards any situation. Daily, I am reminded to think positive and be excited about what you can offer to the world.

What’s my favourite game?
Musical statues as I love music and dancing, and it incorporates both aspects while having fun and moving your body.
